Vehicle Overview

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz V 220 d MWB is a spacious people mover with the practical proportions expected of a medium-wheelbase wagon and the polished presentation associated with Mercedes-Benz. Its seven-seat cabin is configured to carry passengers comfortably while retaining the flexibility required for everyday family or group transport.

Power comes from a 2.1-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. The diesel powertrain is listed with fuel consumption of 6.7 litres per 100 kilometres, giving this large vehicle a useful balance between carrying capacity and operating efficiency. The automatic gearbox is suited to relaxed urban driving and longer journeys, while the model's 2,500-kilogram braked towing rating adds useful versatility when properly equipped.

Inside, the V-Class combines a flexible seating arrangement with equipment intended to make passenger travel more comfortable. The specification includes a seven-seat interior, heated seating, leather upholstery, rear air conditioning and a seat-rail system. Power sliding doors on both sides and an Easy-Pack tailgate make access straightforward, particularly when loading passengers or luggage in confined spaces. Split-folding third-row seating further expands the ways the cabin can be used.

Technology and driver assistance are well represented. Navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, digital radio, a premium sound system and a multifunction control screen support connected travel, while the multifunction steering wheel and paddle shifters keep key controls close to the driver. Active Park Assist, front and rear parking distance control and a reversing camera help with manoeuvring a sizeable vehicle.

Safety equipment includes Active Brake Assist, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assistance, pre-collision systems, Attention Assist and a range of stability and braking controls. Crosswind Assist, trailer stability control and rollover mitigation are particularly relevant to a tall, passenger-focused vehicle. The V 220 d MWB also carries a listed five-star ANCAP rating.
