The result is a motorcycle with genuine touring presence but a specification that places greater emphasis on response, braking and cornering confidence.

At the centre of the package is the 1,977cc V-Twin, using liquid and oil cooling and electronic sequential port fuel injection. A six-speed manual transmission sends drive through a belt final drive, while the two-cylinder configuration and 11.4:1 compression ratio underline the engine's substantial mechanical character. The bike is fitted with an electric starter and dual exhaust, giving it the conventional, purposeful layout expected of a large Harley-Davidson road motorcycle.

The suspension specification is one of the CVO Road Glide ST's defining strengths. Up front, Showa inverted forks provide 117mm of travel, while the rear uses dual adjustable emulsion shocks with remote preload adjustment on the left side and threaded preload adjustment on the right.
