The 2026 KTM 890 Adventure R is built around the idea that the route matters as much as the destination. Its 889 cc parallel-twin petrol engine provides the core of a motorcycle designed to move between sealed roads and more demanding unsealed terrain, while the manual six-speed transmission and ride-by-wire electronic management support a direct, controllable riding experience.

This R specification is distinguished by hardware aimed at serious adventure use. Fully adjustable WP XPLOR front forks and a fully adjustable WP XACT PDS rear shock each provide 240 mm of travel, giving the chassis the range to deal with uneven surfaces and changing conditions. The trellis frame uses chromium-molybdenum steel, while the stressed-engine design keeps the mechanical layout purposeful and focused.

Wheel and braking equipment reinforce that dual-surface character. The motorcycle runs a 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel with laced spokes, matched to adventure-oriented tyre dimensions. Brembo braking hardware includes twin 320 mm front discs and a 240 mm rear disc, with Bosch cornering ABS and a supermoto mode adding flexibility to the standard safety package. A standard skid plate provides protection beneath the motorcycle, while the 880 mm seat height and 200 kg dry weight reflect the substantial chassis and long-travel suspension.
