Vehicle Overview

The 2023 Toyota Fortuner Crusade is a seven-seat wagon that combines the practical proportions of a family SUV with the hardware expected of a genuine four-wheel-drive vehicle. Finished in Glacier White and showing 40,538 km, it occupies the flagship position in the Fortuner range and is designed for owners who need more breadth of ability than a conventional urban crossover can provide.

Its 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine produces 150kW and 500Nm, giving the Fortuner the low-speed pulling power suited to carrying passengers, equipment or a trailer. The automatic transmission keeps the drivetrain straightforward to operate, while the four-wheel-drive system adds capability when conditions become loose, uneven or demanding. Low-range gearing, a rear differential lock and Downhill Assist Control are specified to support controlled progress on difficult tracks rather than limiting the vehicle to sealed-road use.

Towing is another central strength. With a stated braked towing capacity of 3,100kg, the Fortuner is equipped for substantial recreational or work-related loads, including a caravan, horse float or personal watercraft. The diesel engine's torque output and four-wheel-drive layout help explain why this vehicle is suited to buyers who require useful towing capacity without moving into a larger commercial-style platform.

Inside, the Crusade grade adds a more upmarket character to its rugged mechanical foundation. Heated leather-accented front seats provide extra comfort in changing conditions, while three-zone climate control allows the cabin to be managed across its three seating rows. An 11-speaker JBL sound system brings a premium audio focus, and the power tailgate makes it easier to load the rear compartment when both hands are occupied.

The seven-seat cabin is arranged for flexibility rather than simply maximum occupancy. The second row can slide to adjust the balance between passenger legroom and luggage space, while the third row folds away when carrying capacity is more important than the full complement of seats. That versatility makes the Fortuner practical for changing daily demands, from transporting several passengers to accommodating larger loads.

Safety equipment and a five-star ANCAP rating add reassurance to the vehicle's family-oriented role, while its durable four-wheel-drive specification gives it a wider operating envelope than many similarly sized SUVs. Overall, this Fortuner Crusade presents a considered blend of passenger comfort, towing strength and off-road equipment, with the high-grade interior features helping it remain comfortable when the journey extends beyond the city.
