Vehicle Overview

The 2018 Hyundai Kona Active OS is a compact SUV that combines an easy-to-manage footprint with the practical advantages of a five-seat cabin and on-demand four-wheel drive. Its upright SUV design gives it a useful driving position and everyday versatility, while the white exterior keeps the presentation clean and understated.

Power comes from a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with an automatic transmission. The specification lists 265 Nm of torque, providing a useful reserve for normal urban driving, open-road travel and changing conditions. The 4X4 On Demand drivetrain adds extra traction capability when required, making this Kona a more versatile proposition than a conventional front-drive compact SUV. Its listed fuel consumption is 6 L/100km, with a 50-litre fuel tank.

Inside, the Kona is configured to seat five occupants. The cabin is supported by a range of technology and convenience features, including Bluetooth, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, allowing compatible phones and media services to integrate with the vehicle's infotainment system. A reversing camera assists with low-speed manoeuvring, while cruise control can make longer highway journeys less demanding. Roof rails add useful flexibility for carrying selected equipment, subject to the appropriate accessories and load limits.

Safety is a significant part of the Kona's appeal. The vehicle carries a five-star ANCAP safety rating and is equipped with anti-lock brakes, driver and front-passenger airbags, and head airbags for the first row. The reversing camera complements the SUV's compact dimensions by improving visibility when parking or reversing in tighter spaces.

Its proportions remain city-friendly, measuring 4,165 mm in length and 1,800 mm in width, while the 1,565 mm height retains the elevated stance expected of an SUV. Sixteen-inch alloy wheels provide a practical balance between appearance and day-to-day usability. Other useful details include an auxiliary 12V socket, a six-speaker stereo and tilt-and-reach steering-column adjustment.

With 164,175 kilometres displayed, this Kona's mileage should be considered alongside its overall condition and inspection findings. The combination of automatic operation, phone connectivity, a reversing camera, five-seat practicality and on-demand 4X4 capability gives the Active OS a broad range of everyday functions without moving into a larger SUV footprint.
