2024 Ranger XD 1500

The 2024 Polaris Ranger XD 1500 Premium is a heavy-duty utility side-by-side designed around demanding transport, towing and cargo tasks. Its three-cylinder 1498cc ProStar engine produces 110 horsepower, giving the vehicle the output needed for substantial loads while retaining the low-speed control required around trailers, work areas and uneven ground.

A key feature is the STEELDRIVE automatic transmission, which uses a sealed, liquid-cooled steel belt and electronically controlled operation. The drive system offers selectable AWD, 2WD, Turf and Ultra Turf modes, while Comfort, Standard, Sport and Tow/Haul settings allow the throttle response and engine braking characteristics to be adjusted for different conditions. Hill Assist and descent control further support controlled manoeuvring on slopes.

For practical work, the Ranger XD 1500 has a 1,588 kg hitch towing rating and a 680 kg cargo box capacity. The 957 kg payload rating and 51.5-litre fuel capacity add flexibility when carrying equipment or working away from a base. The cargo system uses Lock & Ride MAX integration, allowing compatible accessories to be fitted and rearranged without tools as requirements change.

Its chassis and running gear are intended for rough surfaces, with 38 cm of ground clearance and 30.5 cm of front and rear suspension travel. Dual A-arm front suspension and dual arched A-arm independent rear suspension help the vehicle negotiate uneven terrain, while 29-inch Pro Armor X-Terrain tyres provide a substantial contact patch and an eight-ply construction for added durability. Four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes are power assisted and foot activated.

The Premium specification also places emphasis on the working environment. Contoured seats feature additional bolstering, and the centre seat can fold into an armrest with cupholders. A telescopic steering wheel, adjustable seating, a roof with liner, high-output LED lighting, high-output electronic power steering and a four-inch colour display contribute to everyday usability. The electrical equipment includes a DC outlet, USB charging port, trickle charger and Polaris Pulse electrical system.

With a three-person capacity, the XD 1500 Premium combines a substantial load-carrying platform with a more considered cab environment than a basic utility vehicle. Its combination of towing strength, selectable drive modes, high ground clearance and configurable cargo support makes it suited to tasks where durability and controlled off-road mobility are central requirements.
