The 2025 Mazda BT-50 GT is a dual-cab ute that combines genuine four-wheel-drive hardware with a more polished approach to everyday motoring. Finished in Sailing Blue, this demo vehicle pairs a 3.0-litre intercooled turbo-diesel engine with a six-speed automatic transmission, producing 140kW and 450Nm. With four doors and seating for five, it is configured for carrying people as well as equipment.

Its 4X4 Dual Range drivetrain gives the BT-50 a broad operating envelope, from sealed-road travel to more demanding low-grip conditions. A selectable four-wheel-drive system, dual-range transfer case, locking rear differential and Rough Terrain Mode are supported by hill descent control, hill launch assist and trailer sway control. The combination is aimed at making controlled progress easier when surfaces become uneven or slippery, while the stated braked towing capacity of up to 3,500kg adds useful flexibility for hauling.

Practical details are thoughtfully integrated into the ute’s working brief. A factory tow bar with receiver, tongue and wiring harness is fitted, while the tub liner, tailgate assist, cargo tie-down points and side steps help make regular loading and access more convenient. The full-size alloy spare wheel and 76-litre fuel tank also suit longer journeys where utility and touring ability matter.

The GT grade brings a distinctly more comfortable cabin than a purely work-focused ute. Partial leather trim, heated front seats and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat provide added support and adjustment, while dual-zone climate control with rear air vents helps maintain a more even temperature throughout the cabin. A leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear selector, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, proximity keyless entry and push-button starting add further polish to daily use.

Technology is centred on a nine-inch colour touchscreen with satellite navigation, Bluetooth, DAB+ digital radio and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A reversing camera works with front and rear parking sensors to improve visibility around the vehicle, while the digital instrument display and trip computer keep key information close to the driver. Eighteen-inch machined alloy wheels, LED headlights with automatic levelling, LED daytime running lamps, LED fog lamps and power-folding heated exterior mirrors complete the equipment package.
