Vehicle Overview

The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Blackhawk combines the commanding stance of a large SUV with the practicality expected of a five-door wagon. Finished in white and powered by a 3.6-litre six-cylinder petrol engine, it is specified with a sports automatic transmission and 4x4 capability, giving it the mechanical layout to suit a broad range of everyday and touring requirements.

Its cabin is designed around long-distance comfort and straightforward usability. Partial leather and suede-look seating provide a more substantial feel than basic cloth trim, while heated front seats and electric adjustment with lumbar support help occupants settle into a comfortable position. Dual-zone climate control allows the front occupants to set their preferred temperatures independently, and the leather steering wheel, metallic-finish interior inserts and colour multifunction display add useful polish to the driving environment.

The Grand Cherokee is also well equipped for keeping passengers connected and entertained. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide familiar smartphone integration, supported by Bluetooth, digital radio, satellite navigation and a six-speaker stereo. Auxiliary and USB inputs add flexibility for older devices, while steering-wheel controls and voice recognition help reduce the need to reach for the central display while driving.

Practicality is a central strength of the wagon body. The split-folding second row can be configured to balance passenger space with additional cargo capacity, while a cargo cover and tie-down points help keep luggage organised. Remote boot release, proximity key entry and keyless start make regular loading and departure more convenient. A temporary spare wheel is included for added reassurance on longer journeys.

The 4x4 system is supported by a two-speed transfer case, hill descent control, hill holder and trailer sway control, features that broaden the vehicle's capability beyond paved urban roads. Independent front and rear suspension is intended to provide a composed ride, while 20-inch alloy wheels, a roof-mounted rear spoiler, LED tail lamps and blacked-out lamp surrounds give the Blackhawk a distinctive visual character.

Driver assistance and safety equipment includes a rear-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, graphical parking assistance and reversing collision mitigation. Electronic stability and traction control, ABS, brake assist and multiple airbags provide a comprehensive set of active and passive safety systems. Automatic headlights with high-beam dipping, rain-sensing wipers, LED daytime running lamps and bi-xenon headlamps further support visibility in changing conditions.
