The GWM Tank 300 is a rugged SUV designed to combine genuine four-wheel-drive capability with a more refined, technology-focused cabin. Its upright stance and tough-looking exterior give it a clear off-road identity, while the interior is described as a comfortable, luxury-oriented space intended to work equally well for everyday driving and longer adventures.

The range includes several powertrain and equipment combinations. Diesel versions use a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine, while petrol and plug-in hybrid variants are also offered with a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine. The PHEV models use a nine-speed hybrid automatic transmission, providing an alternative to the conventional diesel and petrol configurations. This breadth of choice allows the Tank 300 range to address different priorities without losing its core 4x4 character.

Off-road equipment is a central part of the vehicle's appeal. Depending on the variant, the Tank 300 can be equipped with electronically controlled mechanical front and rear differential locks, all-terrain mode selection, crawl mode and turn assist. Crawl mode is intended to maintain a stable speed in difficult conditions, while turn assist helps reduce the turning circle in tighter spaces. Together, these systems are designed to make the vehicle more manageable when the terrain becomes challenging.

The cabin places strong emphasis on comfort and convenience. Higher-grade versions feature faux leather or Nappa leather-accented seating, with heating and cooling available on selected models. An adjustable driver's seat, available memory and massage functions, and the aviation-inspired gear lever contribute to a more considered driving environment. Rear passengers benefit from comfort-focused seating and ISOFIX child-seat anchor points fitted as standard.

Technology is built around a 12.3-inch colour touchscreen. Depending on the chosen grade, the equipment list includes a nine-speaker Infinity sound system, wireless phone charging, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a sunroof. A high-resolution 360-degree camera system provides a bird's-eye view around the vehicle, which can be particularly useful when positioning the Tank 300 in confined parking areas or negotiating obstacles off road.

Safety technology includes autonomous emergency braking, rear cross-traffic assist with braking, lane departure warning and blind-spot detection. The model is presented with a five-star ANCAP rating for applicable variants, although the published information specifically excludes Tank 300 Diesel versions from that rating claim. Specification can vary between Lux, Ultra, Diesel and PHEV grades, so equipment should be considered in the context of the selected variant.
