The G6's strongest appeal is its balance between usable range, brisk performance and charging capability. Its 87.5 kWh lithium-ion battery supports a claimed 570 km WLTP driving range, while the permanent-magnet electric motor produces 210.0 kW and 440 Nm. Rear-wheel drive gives the vehicle a straightforward layout, and the single-speed automatic transmission suits the smooth, immediate character associated with electric propulsion. A 0-100 km/h time of 6.2 seconds provides ample performance for merging and overtaking without compromising the vehicle's broader focus on relaxed daily usability.

Long-distance travel is supported by 800-volt electrical architecture and DC charging capability of up to 280 kW. The published charging specification indicates a 10 to 80 per cent DC charging window in approximately 20 minutes when connected to suitable equipment. AC charging is available through a Type 2 connection, while vehicle-to-load functionality adds useful flexibility for powering selected external appliances when camping, travelling or operating away from a conventional power source.

Inside, the G6 takes a lounge-like approach. Black vegan leather trim, power-adjustable front seats and heated seating contribute to a comfortable cabin in varying conditions, with ventilation for the front seats and heating available for the rear. The panoramic glass roof brings extra light into the passenger compartment, while dual wireless charging pads with active cooling help keep compatible devices ready for use. A 14.96-inch central touchscreen and 10.2-inch digital driver display provide the primary interface, complemented by wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Practicality remains a key part of the G6's appeal. The boot provides 571 litres of space with the rear seats in place and expands to 1,374 litres when they are folded, giving the vehicle useful capacity for regular shopping, luggage and larger loads. Five seats and five doors make access straightforward, while the SUV body style provides a versatile shape without the bulk of a larger vehicle.

Driver assistance and safety equipment are comprehensive. Adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision warning and autonomous emergency braking are supported by a 360-degree surround-view camera, reversing camera and parking assistance systems. An integrated dash camera, rear cross-traffic alert, safe-exit warning and driver alert system add further layers of awareness in everyday driving. The G6 carries a five-star ANCAP rating from 2024.
