View detailsThe INEOS Grenadier took centre stage at the 2025 F.A.T International Ice Race in the Austrian Alps, an event defined by frozen surfaces, snow, slush and an unusually eclectic gathering of performance cars. Rather than appearing solely as a static display vehicle, the Grenadier was presented in an environment that placed traction, control and four-wheel-drive capability at the heart of the experience.
The event featured two particularly distinctive Grenadier examples. The Grenadier 1924 was created to mark the centenary of Belstaff and was limited to 1,924 vehicles, with exclusive design details intended to distinguish it from other versions in the range. Alongside it was a Grenadier Quartermaster prototype fitted with portal axles. Its raised stance gave the pick-up an especially imposing appearance and made it one of the more conspicuous vehicles in the paddock.
That mixture of limited-edition design and experimental engineering suited the setting. The paddock brought visitors close to rare and unusual cars, while the ice circuit provided a demanding backdrop for vehicles to demonstrate how they behave when grip is scarce. The Quartermaster prototype attracted considerable attention, not only because of its unusual axle arrangement but also because it represented a more extreme interpretation of the Grenadier platform.
Visitors who secured one of the limited test-drive places could choose between two Grenadier Station Wagons and a Quartermaster pick-up. Each drive took place with a professional instructor on hand, allowing participants to experience the vehicles in wintry conditions while receiving guidance about how to approach the surface. The rapid take-up of the available places reflected the appeal of trying a purpose-built 4X4 away from conventional road conditions.
The Grenadier presence extended beyond customer drives. The Quartermaster portal-axle prototype and a regular pick-up completed show runs on the snow and ice, while another Quartermaster carried F.A.T event livery. These appearances offered a practical demonstration of the vehicle family’s off-road focus and showed how the Station Wagon and pick-up formats can be presented in both production-oriented and experimental forms.
As a model-information feature rather than an individual vehicle listing, this page does not identify a specific vehicle’s price, mileage, equipment configuration or ownership details. Its focus is the Grenadier’s participation in a specialist winter motorsport event, where the model’s 4X4 identity was displayed through static exhibits, guided test drives and track demonstrations.
