Vehicle Overview

2020 Hyundai Kona Active OS.3.

The 2020 Hyundai Kona Active is a compact SUV that combines a manageable footprint with the raised driving position and practical flexibility many drivers want from an everyday vehicle. Its white exterior and distinctive styling give it a confident road presence, while the compact dimensions make it well suited to urban streets and tighter parking spaces.

Power comes from a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 180 Nm of torque, paired with an automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The naturally aspirated drivetrain is straightforward and familiar, with the published combined fuel consumption rated at 7 L/100km. With five seats and a split-folding second row, the Kona offers useful versatility for passengers, shopping and general day-to-day cargo needs without the bulk of a larger SUV.

The cabin is designed around accessible, practical technology. A colour touchscreen multimedia system is supported by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing compatible smartphone functions, navigation and audio to be integrated into the driving experience. Bluetooth connectivity, USB and auxiliary inputs, a six-speaker stereo and a multifunction steering wheel add convenience, while the cloth-trimmed interior and adjustable driver’s seat support a comfortable driving position.

Active safety equipment is a notable part of the Kona’s appeal. The specification includes forward collision warning with low-speed collision mitigation, lane departure warning, active lane-keeping assistance, driver attention detection, electronic stability and traction control, hill-holder assistance, rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera. Seven airbags are listed, along with ABS, brake assist, electronic brake-force distribution and tyre-pressure monitoring with logging and display. The vehicle also carries a five-star ANCAP safety rating.
