Tim Nicholson is an automotive journalist and Managing Editor with experience spanning industry publications, motoring media and CarsGuide. His interest in cars began early and developed into a career covering vehicle news, reviews and the broader automotive industry.

He began his journalism career in 2011 as a staff writer for the Australian Open while completing a Master of Arts in Media and Communications at Swinburne University. He later pursued automotive broadcasting through the Fender Bender community radio program before joining GoAuto, where he eventually became Managing Editor.

As RACV’s Motoring Editor, Nicholson gained experience from another perspective of the Australian motoring landscape and spent a year as an Australia’s Best Cars judge. He joined CarsGuide as a Contributing Journalist in September 2021, became Senior Editor in April 2022 and took on the Managing Editor role in December 2022.
