Vehicle Overview

This 2017 Hyundai Tucson Active X TL is a practical five-seat SUV with a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre petrol engine, six-speed sports automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Its combination of a raised driving position, manageable dimensions and five-door access makes it a versatile choice for everyday transport, while the 4475mm body length provides useful cabin and cargo space without making the vehicle unwieldy in tighter urban environments.

The Tucson’s interior is designed around straightforward usability. Partial leather seating, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather gear knob add a more substantial feel to the cabin, while the driver’s electric lumbar adjustment supports a comfortable driving position. The second row is split-folding, allowing the rear seating area to be adapted when carrying larger items. Roof rails, cargo tie-down hooks, a cargo cover and a full-size alloy spare wheel further extend its usefulness for regular errands and longer trips.

Everyday convenience is supported by air conditioning, remote central locking, power windows, heated folding exterior mirrors and a colour multifunction control screen. Bluetooth, USB and auxiliary audio inputs provide several ways to connect devices, and Apple CarPlay integration brings compatible smartphone functions into the vehicle’s display. Cruise control is included for relaxed open-road driving, while rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera help provide greater awareness when manoeuvring.

On the outside, the blue finish is complemented by 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, LED daytime running lamps and front fog lamps. The equipment list also includes automatic light-sensitive headlamps, a rear wiper and electrically assisted power steering. With a 62-litre fuel tank and a listed combined fuel consumption figure of 7 L/100km, the Tucson offers a useful balance between day-to-day practicality and touring convenience.

Safety equipment includes a five-star ANCAP safety rating, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control and hill-holder functionality. Front, side and head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners and load limiters, an engine immobiliser and an alarm add further protection. The Active X TL’s specification is rounded out by adjustable head restraints, three rear headrests, split-fold rear seating and a range of storage features throughout the cabin.
