Vehicle Overview

2026 Suzuki Jimny GLX MY26.

The 2026 Suzuki Jimny GLX retains the compact, distinctive character that has made this three-door wagon a familiar sight on Australian tracks, while adding a more comprehensive suite of technology and driver assistance. Finished in blue with a bluish-black roof and paired with a five-speed manual transmission, it is a straightforward specification built around light weight, compact dimensions and genuine four-wheel-drive hardware.

Its 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine produces 75kW and 130Nm, with power delivered through Suzuki's ALLGRIP PRO 4WD system. Hill Holder and Hill Descent Control are included, helping make controlled progress on changing gradients. The stated approach, ramp breakover and departure angles of 37, 28 and 49 degrees respectively underline the Jimny's practical off-road geometry, while its towing ratings are 1,300kg braked and 350kg unbraked.

The GLX's cabin brings useful improvements for everyday driving. A nine-inch touchscreen supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside Bluetooth and USB audio playback, steering-wheel controls and voice control. Digital climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a reverse camera add convenience, while front and rear parking sensors provide extra assistance when manoeuvring the short-bodied vehicle.

Safety and awareness technology has also been updated. Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, Dual Sensor Brake Support II, Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Departure Warning and Weaving Alert are included, supported by six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Anti-Lock Braking, Electronic Brake Distribution, Brake Assist and autonomous emergency braking. ISOFIX child-seat anchor points are also fitted.

Outside, the GLX specification includes 15-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, LED projector headlights, daytime running lights, front fog lights, heated and electrically folding door mirrors, manual headlight levelling, colour-matched door handles and rear privacy glass. The spare wheel is carried at the rear beneath its cover, preserving the Jimny's recognisable profile while retaining the equipment expected of a practical four-wheel-drive.

Folding rear seats allow the cargo area to expand from 85 litres with the seats raised to 377 litres when folded. Resin-coated seatbacks are designed for hard-wearing use, and 12-volt outlets are provided in both the centre console and luggage area. The compact cabin and cargo layout favour versatility over outright carrying capacity, but the square shape and folding rear section make the available space useful for equipment and weekend gear.
