This new-generation Mitsubishi Triton combines the practical strengths expected of a dual-cab ute with a broad suite of contemporary driver-assistance and connectivity technology. Finished in White with a black sports-cloth interior, this GLX+ is configured with a six-speed sports automatic transmission and 4X4 dual-range drive, giving it the mechanical layout required for varied road and work conditions.

Power comes from a 2.4-litre twin-turbo intercooled diesel engine producing 150 kW and 470 Nm. The diesel’s torque is developed from 1,500 rpm, while the four-wheel-drive system offers selectable drive modes and a locking differential. Hill-start assist and trailer sway control add useful support when operating on uneven ground or when towing. The published braked towing capacity is 3,500 kg, with a 1,098 kg payload and a 3,200 kg gross vehicle mass.

The Triton’s double-cab body provides seating for five across four doors, while the tray measures 1,555 mm in length and 1,545 mm in width. The multifunction steering wheel keeps key controls within reach, while Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS navigation, digital radio, USB ports and a connected smartphone app provide a useful range of entertainment and information functions. Privacy glass and cleaner cabin air features add further comfort for occupants.

Safety equipment is extensive for a vehicle in this class. An integrated dash camera, reversing camera, parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert assist with visibility around the vehicle. Forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and road-sign recognition are designed to reduce driver workload on longer journeys.
