The 2026 Isuzu MU-X X-TERRAIN is a seven-seat SUV built around a practical blend of long-distance comfort, towing ability and four-wheel-drive versatility. Its 3.0-litre four-cylinder DOHC turbo-intercooled diesel engine produces 140 kW and 450 Nm, with peak torque available from 1,600 to 2,600 rpm. That torque delivery suits a large SUV intended to carry passengers and equipment, while the Sports Automatic transmission is matched to a dual-range 4X4 system. The Terrain Command selector allows the driver to choose the four-wheel-drive setting, and the specification includes a rear differential lock, hill descent control, hill start assist and a Rough Terrain Mode button. Steel plate protection for the sump, transfer case and fuel tank leading edge adds useful consideration for more demanding surfaces.

With a braked towing capacity of 3,500 kg and an 80-litre fuel tank, the MU-X is configured for substantial touring and hauling duties. Its 235 mm ground clearance and full-size alloy spare wheel further support its ability to deal with uneven roads, while the 20-inch alloy wheels and 265/50 R20 Highway-Terrain tyres give the X-TERRAIN a distinctive stance without abandoning everyday road use.

The cabin is arranged for seven occupants, giving the MU-X the flexibility to carry a larger group or make use of the additional luggage space available when the rear seating rows are not required. Dual-zone climate control helps keep the interior comfortable, while heated front seats, an eight-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat and four-way electric passenger-seat adjustment provide useful day-to-day support. Technology is centred on a 9-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, built-in satellite navigation and an eight-speaker audio system. A 360-degree surround-view monitor works with front and rear parking sensors to make manoeuvring a vehicle of this size easier, while the reversing camera provides dynamic guidelines. A powered tailgate with integrated rear spoiler adds convenience when loading the cargo area.
