Its drivetrain is designed around practical capability. Terrain Command with shift-on-the-fly operation allows the driver to select the appropriate drive mode as conditions change, while hill descent control, hill start assist, traction control and a rear differential lock support progress across uneven or slippery surfaces. Steel plate guards protect key underbody areas, including the sump, transfer case and fuel tank leading edge. Trailer sway control and a stated braked towing capacity of 3,500 kg further underline the D-MAX's working credentials.

The BLADE's cabin adds a more distinctive and comfort-oriented character without losing the straightforward functionality expected of a ute. Leather-accented seats feature BLADE logo stitching, with heated front seats and an eight-way electrically adjustable driver's seat making longer journeys easier to manage. Dual-zone climate control, a leather steering wheel and push-button start contribute to a convenient driving environment, while split-fold rear seating and child-seat anchor points help maintain flexibility for passengers and cargo.

Technology is centred on a nine-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and built-in satellite navigation.
