Vehicle Overview

This 2020 Toyota Fortuner GX is a seven-seat, four-wheel-drive wagon built around the practical strengths of Toyota’s ute-based SUV platform. Its 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine produces 150 kW and 500 Nm, while the six-speed automatic transmission and 4x4 drivetrain give it the mechanical specification expected of a vehicle designed for varied road and load conditions.

The Fortuner’s most useful quality is its blend of passenger capacity and utility. Seven seats make it adaptable for larger households or group travel, with a third row that can be folded when carrying luggage or equipment is more important than maximum seating. The interior also includes front and rear climate control, an air-conditioned cool box, storage areas, bottle holders and cup holders, details that help make longer journeys more manageable.

This GX is equipped with an 8-inch multimedia system incorporating Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite navigation, digital radio, voice recognition and a six-speaker sound system. Steering-wheel controls, cruise control and a reversing camera add everyday convenience, while front and rear parking sensors provide useful assistance when manoeuvring the substantial wagon in tighter spaces.

Safety equipment is comprehensive for the class, including autonomous emergency braking, collision avoidance, lane departure assist, road sign assistance, active traction control, trailer stability control and Toyota Safety Sense features. Curtain and side airbags, ISOFIX anchorage points and child-seat anchorages further support its family-oriented layout.

Outside, the vehicle is fitted with a lift kit, Maxxis all-terrain tyres, 17-inch alloy wheels, black side steps, a genuine bull bar, tow bar and an LED bar. These additions give the Fortuner a more purposeful touring and recreational presentation, while the all-terrain tyres and 216 mm of listed ground clearance complement its four-wheel-drive configuration. A full-size spare wheel is also specified.

The diesel engine is paired with an 80-litre fuel tank and a listed combined consumption figure of 7.6 L/100 km. The vehicle’s stated braked towing capacity is 3100 kg, adding practical versatility for approved towing applications. Its equipment also includes a rear differential lock, hill-start assist, ventilated disc brakes and vehicle stability control.
