The 2026 Isuzu D-MAX X-TERRAIN is a dual-cab ute designed to combine everyday usability with serious four-wheel-drive capability. Finished in Obsidian Grey Mica, this new example is presented with just 10 km and uses Isuzu’s 3.0-litre 4JJ3-TCX four-cylinder turbo-intercooled diesel engine, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and 4X4 Dual Range drive.

The engine develops 140 kW at 3,600 rpm and 450 Nm between 1,600 and 2,600 rpm, giving the D-MAX the output required for both general load-carrying and towing duties. Its listed braked towing capacity is 3,500 kg, while a 750 kg unbraked rating adds flexibility for lighter trailers. A 76-litre fuel tank and a quoted combined fuel economy figure of 7.8L/100km support longer periods between stops, although real-world consumption will depend on load, terrain and driving conditions.

The X-TERRAIN’s four-wheel-drive system is complemented by a rear differential lock, hill descent control, hill start assist, traction control and trailer sway control. Underbody protection is fitted around the sump, transfer case and fuel tank, while the 240 mm ground clearance and short front overhang are intended to assist when travelling over uneven surfaces. The double-walled ute tub includes an under-rail tub liner, a lockable tailgate and a matte black roller tonneau, providing practical protection for cargo when the vehicle is used for work, recreation or touring.

Inside, the cabin focuses on comfort and connectivity. Leather-accented seats with red stitching, heated front seats and dual-zone climate control give the interior a more upmarket feel, while rear-seat ventilation helps distribute air through the back of the cabin. The driver’s seat is electrically adjustable, and the leather steering wheel incorporates cruise, audio and voice-recognition controls. A nine-inch touchscreen provides Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and built-in satellite navigation, with a roof-mounted Sky Sound system using eight speakers.

Safety and driver-assistance equipment is extensive. The vehicle includes eight airbags, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, emergency brake assist, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, emergency lane keeping, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Driver Attention Assist, traffic sign recognition, an intelligent speed limiter and tyre-pressure monitoring add further layers of awareness. Automatic headlights, automatic high beam, automatic windscreen wipers, bi-LED headlights with auto-levelling and LED rear combination lamps contribute to visibility in changing conditions.
