Vehicle Overview

2015 Kia Sportage Platinum (AWD).

This 2015 Kia Sportage Platinum is a well-equipped all-wheel-drive SUV that combines practical family-sized accommodation with a more upmarket specification. Its white exterior is complemented by 18-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, roof rails, privacy glass and a power sunroof, giving the Sportage a distinctive presence while retaining the useful proportions expected of a compact wagon.

The Platinum specification places a clear emphasis on cabin comfort. Leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, dual-zone automatic climate control and a power-adjustable driver’s seat make the interior well suited to changing conditions and longer journeys. The split-fold rear seat, cargo cover, cargo net and remote hatch release add useful flexibility when carrying passengers, shopping or larger items.

Its 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. That combination provides a straightforward, familiar drivetrain for everyday use, while hill descent control, hill holder and traction control add support when negotiating uneven or slippery surfaces. Cruise control and adjustable steering-wheel controls also contribute to a less demanding driving experience on extended trips.

Technology is covered by satellite navigation, a multifunction control screen, mobile-phone connectivity, AUX and USB inputs, a CD audio system with seven speakers and a premium sound system. Parking assistance is supported by front parking-distance control and a reversing camera, with automatic lights, rain-sensing wipers and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror helping reduce the effort required in changing traffic and weather conditions.

Safety equipment includes dual front, side and head airbags, anti-lock braking, brake assist, electronic brake-force distribution, electronic stability control, traction control, child-seat anchor points and lap-sash seatbelts for all seating positions. Xenon headlights, LED rear lights and front fog lights add further visibility support. With five seats, a versatile wagon body and a broad list of comfort and driver-assistance features, this Sportage presents as a practical and comprehensively specified used SUV.
