BYD DOLPHIN

The BYD DOLPHIN is a compact electric SUV designed around straightforward everyday usability, with the selected Essential specification pairing a modest footprint with an electric powertrain and a practical range claim. Its front-mounted electric drive system produces 70 kW and 180 Nm, providing the immediate response associated with battery-electric motoring while keeping the specification focused and uncomplicated.

At the heart of the Essential is BYD's 44.9 kWh Blade Battery. The published figures quote up to 410 km on the NEDC cycle and 340 km under WLTP testing. As with all stated laboratory ranges, real-world distance will vary with conditions, driving style, temperature and use of climate control, but the WLTP figure provides the more relevant reference for comparing expected everyday capability. DC charging is supported at up to 60 kW, giving owners access to faster replenishment when a suitable public charger is available.

The selected exterior finish is Ski White, complemented by 16-inch alloy wheels. This combination gives the DOLPHIN a clean, restrained appearance while retaining the practical wheel size specified for the Essential grade. The cabin is presented in a Grey and Black interior treatment, creating a contrasting environment without relying on an overly elaborate colour scheme.

As a compact SUV-shaped electric vehicle, the DOLPHIN is oriented towards drivers who want the quiet, low-emission character of an EV in a relatively easy-to-place body. The front-wheel-drive layout and compact mechanical package leave the vehicle centred on accessible urban and suburban driving, while the charging capability and quoted range extend its usefulness beyond short local trips.
