NEW JAECOO SUPER HYBRID TAKES THE TOP SPOT IN THE UK.

The JAECOO J7 SHS is presented as a plug-in hybrid SUV built around the brand’s Super Hybrid System. Its central appeal is the combination of electric-first driving with the flexibility of a petrol engine, giving the model a broader operating range than a battery-electric vehicle while retaining the quiet, smooth character associated with electric propulsion.

The system is designed to prioritise electric driving and support lower emissions, while the petrol component provides additional flexibility for longer journeys. That balance makes the J7 SHS part of a growing category of electrified SUVs intended to reduce reliance on the engine during suitable driving conditions without requiring an owner to depend solely on charging infrastructure.

Interest in the model has been particularly strong in the United Kingdom. JAECOO reported more than 10,000 J7 orders there within seven months of the SHS launch, with the J7 SHS accounting for around 70 per cent of JAECOO 7 sales in that market. The model was also reported as the best-selling plug-in hybrid in the UK during August 2025, while combined JAECOO and OMODA vehicle lines achieved a three per cent market share for the month.

The Australian market has also recorded early demand for SHS-equipped vehicles, with more than 500 sales reported since their local launch. These results position the J7 SHS as a significant model in the brand’s electrification strategy, pairing the practicality of an SUV format with a hybrid system intended to provide both electric refinement and petrol-powered flexibility.
