NEW JAECOO SUPER HYBRID TAKES THE TOP SPOT IN THE UK.

The JAECOO J7 SHS is the focus of this market update, which outlines the growing interest in plug-in hybrid SUVs in the United Kingdom and Australia. The model combines an electric-first driving experience with petrol flexibility, positioning it as an alternative for drivers seeking lower-emission motoring without relying solely on charging infrastructure.

Seven months after its UK launch, the JAECOO 7 had attracted more than 10,000 orders, while the J7 SHS accounted for around 70 per cent of JAECOO 7 sales in that market. The figures indicate that the hybrid powertrain is a significant part of the model’s appeal rather than a niche alternative within the range.

The Super Hybrid System is described as delivering electric-first operation, ultra-low emissions and long range. In practical terms, that combination is intended to make everyday driving feel more like an electric vehicle while retaining the convenience of a petrol engine for longer journeys. The balance between electric refinement and petrol flexibility is central to the J7 SHS concept.

The model’s UK performance also coincided with strong results across the JAECOO and OMODA vehicle lines, which together reached a 3 per cent market share in August 2025. The JAECOO 7 SHS was the best-selling plug-in hybrid in the UK during that month, according to the announcement.

Interest has also extended to Australia, where SHS-equipped vehicles had recorded more than 500 sales since launch at the time of publication. Further SHS models were scheduled to arrive, indicating that the technology is intended to become an increasingly important part of the wider range.
