Vehicle Overview

2026 Ford F450 Platinum.

The Ford F450 Platinum is a heavy-duty ute built around substantial load-carrying and towing capability, while giving its occupants an unusually refined environment for a vehicle of this scale. This example has travelled just 100km and combines a 6.7-litre Output Powerstroke diesel V8 with a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.

Its working credentials are central to the appeal. A 4.30 limited-slip rear differential supports the drivetrain, while the stated payload is more than two tonnes. The F450 also incorporates onboard scales with a taillight indicator, providing useful information when loading the tray and helping owners make better use of its available capacity. The FX4 package adds underbody skid plates and off-road shocks for additional protection and versatility when operating away from sealed roads.

Despite its commercial foundations, the Platinum specification places considerable emphasis on long-distance comfort. The cabin features smoked truffle diamond-stitched leather seating, five-way massage functionality, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats and max-recline front seats. A suede roof liner, ambient lighting and a twin-panel moonroof with electric shutter further distinguish the interior, while dual-zone climate control helps maintain a comfortable temperature across the cabin.

Technology is centred on a 12-inch productivity screen, with a 14-speaker Bang and Olufsen sound system, wireless phone charging and a power-sliding rear window adding convenience. A power-adjustable steering column, memory-linked pedals and power-operated tow mirrors make it easier to configure the driving position and mirrors for different users. Upfitter switches are also included for integrating additional equipment.

For a vehicle with such substantial dimensions, the available camera and sensor systems are particularly valuable. Adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, AdvanceTrac stability control with roll stability control, and front and curtain airbags contribute to a more manageable and reassuring driving experience.

Exterior functionality includes a power-operated tailgate with foldable step, spray-in bed liner, power-deployable running boards with approach detection and Securicode keyless entry. Together, these features make the F450 better suited to repeated loading, unloading and access to the cabin, without taking away from its premium Platinum character.
