The 2026 Mitsubishi Triton MV MY26 GLS is a new-generation double-cab utility designed to combine everyday usability with serious load-hauling and off-road capability. Finished in White Diamond, this four-door, five-seat pick-up pairs a diesel engine with a six-speed sports automatic transmission and selectable four-wheel drive, giving it the hardware to move confidently between suburban roads, work duties and more demanding terrain.

Its 2.4-litre diesel engine is matched to a drivetrain that prioritises practical versatility. The 4WD system, selectable driving modes, active yaw control, hill descent control and hill holder are useful additions when surfaces become loose, steep or uneven. A differential lock and transmission-case skid plate further support its working and recreational credentials, while trailer sway control adds an extra layer of assistance when towing. The vehicle is rated to tow up to 3,500kg braked, making it suitable for substantial trailers when correctly equipped and operated within applicable limits.

As a double-cab pick-up, the Triton provides seating for five while retaining an open cargo area behind the cabin. The tub includes a bedliner and cargo tie-down hooks or rings, helping owners organise equipment and protect the load space during regular use. Side steps, front and rear mudflaps and a rear step bumper add practical touches for accessing the tray and dealing with the less polished conditions often associated with utility vehicle work.

The GLS specification also gives the cabin a strong focus on comfort and convenience. Two-zone climate control, electric driver lumbar adjustment, a leather steering wheel and leather gear knob contribute to a more considered driving environment, while the carpeted cabin floor and shared front and rear armrests make longer trips easier to manage. Keyless start, proximity entry, remote locking, electric folding and heated mirrors, power windows and a multi-function steering wheel are among the features that reduce everyday effort.

Connectivity is handled through a colour multi-function display, Bluetooth, digital radio, USB connectivity and smartphone integration through Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. Satellite navigation, wireless device charging and a six-speaker stereo add further convenience for commuting, travel or site-to-site driving. The full-size alloy spare wheel is another useful inclusion for owners who spend time away from major roads.

Safety equipment is extensive. Front, side, curtain, driver-knee and front-centre airbags are supported by electronic stability control, traction control, anti-lock braking and electronic brake-force distribution. Forward collision warning, high- and low-speed forward collision mitigation, reversing collision mitigation, pedestrian and vulnerable-road-user detection, emergency steering assistance and post-collision steering or braking form part of the active safety package. LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps and LED tail lamps improve visibility, while automatic headlamp operation, auto high-beam dipping, rain-sensing wipers and an electric anti-glare rear-view mirror help reduce the demands of changing conditions.
