NEW JAECOO SUPER HYBRID TAKES THE TOP SPOT IN THE UK.

The JAECOO J7 SHS is presented as a plug-in hybrid SUV built around an electric-first approach, combining the quiet, refined character associated with electric driving with the flexibility of petrol power. Its Super Hybrid System is designed to support low-emission motoring while retaining the longer-distance practicality expected from a conventional powertrain.

The model has attracted strong attention in the United Kingdom. Within seven months of its UK launch, the JAECOO 7 had passed 10,000 orders, with the SHS version accounting for around 70 per cent of JAECOO 7 sales in that market. In August 2025, the system was reported as the best-selling plug-in hybrid in the UK, highlighting the growing interest in SUVs that can combine electric capability with petrol flexibility.

The broader OMODA and JAECOO vehicle lines reached a combined 3 per cent market share in the UK during the same month. While that figure reflects the performance of both brands rather than the J7 SHS alone, it provides useful context for the model's position within a wider push towards electrified SUVs.

In Australia, the Super Hybrid System has also begun building momentum, with more than 500 SHS-equipped vehicles sold since launch. The J7 SHS therefore represents a significant part of the brand's electrification strategy, offering an alternative to both purely petrol-powered SUVs and fully electric vehicles for drivers seeking a balance between everyday electric running and the convenience of an onboard petrol engine.
