Vehicle Overview

2016 Hyundai Tucson Active X 2WD.

The 2016 Hyundai Tucson Active X presents as a practical, well-equipped mid-size SUV with the straightforward usability of front-wheel drive and the familiarity of a petrol engine paired with a six-speed sports automatic transmission. Its wagon body provides a useful balance between passenger accommodation and everyday cargo flexibility, while the five-seat cabin is suited to carrying people and their belongings without the footprint of a larger four-wheel-drive SUV.

With 132,993 kilometres recorded, this Tucson is specified with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and front-wheel drive. The automatic gearbox is complemented by hill-holder assistance, electronic stability control, traction control and brake assist, giving the vehicle a broad set of electronic driving aids for routine road use. The listed combined fuel consumption is 7.9L/100km, with urban consumption of 11L/100km and extra-urban consumption of 6.1L/100km.

The Active X cabin focuses on comfort and convenience. Partial leather seating, a leather steering wheel and leather gear knob give the interior a more finished feel, while the driver's electric lumbar adjustment supports a more tailored driving position. Air conditioning with a pollen filter, power windows, heated folding door mirrors and remote or keyless central locking add useful everyday functionality. Split-folding rear seats and cargo-area storage features allow the load space to be adapted when carrying larger items.

Technology is centred around a colour multifunction control screen, Bluetooth connectivity, USB and auxiliary audio inputs, iPod compatibility, Apple CarPlay integration and a six-speaker stereo. A multifunction steering wheel and trip computer keep common controls and information close to the driver. Rear parking sensors and a reversing camera assist with visibility when manoeuvring, while the five-door layout makes access to both seating rows straightforward.

Exterior equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, body-coloured bumpers, tinted glass, LED daytime running lamps, front fog lamps and automatic headlights. Safety equipment includes front, side and curtain airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake-force distribution, an engine immobiliser and adjustable front seatbelt systems. The Tucson is also listed with a braked towing capacity of 1,600kg, adding useful capability for appropriately equipped towing applications.
