2026 Isuzu D-MAX SX.

This new-generation Isuzu D-MAX SX is configured as an extended-cab cab chassis, combining a compact two-seat cabin with the flexibility of a tray-backed working platform. Its 4X4 Dual Range drivetrain is suited to conditions where additional traction and low-range control are useful, while the automatic transmission makes everyday driving less demanding.

Power comes from Isuzu's 3.0-litre four-cylinder 4JJ3-TCX turbo-intercooled diesel engine, producing 140 kW and 450 Nm. The combination of diesel torque, a 76-litre fuel tank and a braked towing capacity of 3500 kg gives this D-MAX useful capability for carrying equipment and managing substantial loads. Heavy-duty rear leaf suspension, a rear differential lock, trailer sway control and hill descent control further support its practical, work-focused brief.

The cab is finished in Basalt Black Mica and includes black cloth seating, easy-clean vinyl flooring and a six-way adjustable driver's seat. Space cab rear wing doors provide additional access around the compact cabin, while the standard tray specification adds a useful foundation for equipment or trade-focused applications.

Despite its utilitarian layout, the SX includes a considered suite of convenience and connectivity equipment. An 8-inch touchscreen supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, complemented by a four-speaker audio system. Manual air conditioning, power windows, keyless entry and a urethane steering wheel with cruise, audio and voice-recognition controls help keep the cabin straightforward and functional.

Safety equipment is extensive for a cab chassis, with eight airbags, autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and emergency lane-keeping functions. Automatic headlights, automatic high beam, automatic windscreen wipers, traffic sign recognition and driver attention assist add further support during longer or more demanding journeys. Electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist and post-collision braking are also fitted.
