Omoda Jaecoo continues strong NEV sales in July

Omoda Jaecoo recorded a strong July in Australia despite the traditionally softer conditions associated with the month. The brand registered 2,135 vehicles, with 1,571 of those deliveries classified as electrified vehicles. That equates to 74 per cent of total monthly deliveries and highlights the growing importance of new-energy models within the range.

The Jaecoo J5 EV was the clearest contributor to the result, recording 1,262 sales during July. Since its introduction, more than 7,700 J5 vehicles have been delivered in Australia, including 7,192 electric versions. The model also achieved the distinction of being the best-selling small electric SUV in Australia in May and ranked seventh overall among all vehicles for that month.

Across its electric and Super Hybrid System models, Omoda Jaecoo has delivered more than 9,000 vehicles in Australia during 2026. Those vehicles represent 82.5 per cent of the brand's 10,943 total sales for the year, indicating that electrified powertrains are driving the majority of its current local volume.

The brand's results form part of a broader international expansion in new-energy vehicles. Omoda Jaecoo recorded 56,188 global NEV sales in June, an increase of 310 per cent compared with the same month a year earlier. The company also reported strong plug-in hybrid performance in the United Kingdom, Brazil, Italy and Poland, with the J7 SHS featuring prominently in several of those markets.

Australia's electrified line-up is set to broaden further with the arrival of the next-generation J5 SHS-H and the seven-seat J8 SHS-P. Their introduction gives the range additional coverage across hybrid and larger family-oriented SUV segments, building on the sales momentum established by the J5 EV and existing Super Hybrid models.
